Drexel’s Therapy Dogs are still hard at work amid the pandemic. Their owner and handler, Janine Erato, has been continuing programming and training with the dogs.
Gabby Remo had a health scare, loss of housing, and postponement of co-op all at once. She talked to us about how she is staying positive during these unprecedented times.
Gabrielle Brizzi had been looking forward to her dual country co-op, especially since she has been in classes for six straight terms, and this is the only co-op her plan of study offers her. However, due to COVID-19 it as cancelled. She was also forced to find new housing as she was an RA, and the university no longer required RAs due to the pandemic.

María Paula (Mapa) Mijares decided to co-op in Greece during the fall-winter terms. She is now stuck there for the spring and summer, because of the international travel bans in the U.S. and her home country of Venezuela.

Since Drexel is operating virtually, it is impossible for most of Westphal’s hands-on classes to be moved online. Plus, their industries are at a standstill, so it is very hard for them to secure co-ops.
